Our Mission for Education

As part of our vision, that the community care for and invest in each other, HKP nurtures academic achievement of young people.

HK Community Scholar
HK Project Scholarship Program awards one high school senior, residing in Mapelwood/South Orange, a $5,000 scholarship to be used for an undergraduate degree at the college of his/her choice. The recipient is selected based on their work within the community, academic achievement and financial need.

Past recipients include: Alexandra Fagundez, Deshawn Gray and Nethaniah Josma.

HK Project Softball Scholarship
The HK Project is offering a Columbia High School Senior Softball Scholarship to any high school senior girl who has participated (played/managed) in the Columbia High School Softball program for at least three seasons.

Local Scholarship funds
HKP will make an annual donation to scholarship funds that focus on qualified local students who need financial assistance in order to attend a 2 or 4 year college.

Financial Assistance for Extracurricular Programs
The first items to be cut from school budgets tend to be the extra-curricular programs. The HKP's philosophy is that these programs are vital aspects of personal growth, are integral in each student's educational experience and are important components of Community Spirit. A pending Request for Funds form will be provided to offer assistance.
