Our Board of Directors


President/Board Member

Thomas E. Kerns, who has headed accounting and operations for a $20-plus billion investment management company, as well as product and business development for a major international bank. He co-developed the Maplewood/South Orange Girls softball program, after the previous program had suffered from neglect. The program has grown to over 20 teams with an enrollment of more than 300 school-aged players. In addition, Tom volunteers as a guest lecturer for an Advanced Placement: Economics course at a local high school.

Vice President/Board Member

Jeanmarie Hargrave, whose Masters of Science degree from Columbia University’s School of Social Work has been used to serve mentally ill homeless women in New York City. She is a long-time volunteer at local schools and has also volunteered her services to benefit local community service based organizations.

Board Members

Steven Tugentman, a senior vice president and deputy general counsel for a major telecommunications company. In this capacity he is responsible for issues related to marketing, branding, sponsorships, products and services, and business development. He is also a member of the National Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of the non-profit Council of Better Business Bureaus.

Gail Gendler, Gail is courrently Gail Gendler is currently Senior Director Acquisitions for AMC/Sundance Channel Global Networks LLC. As a part of the acquisitions team, she focuses on structuring and negotiating content deals for studio feature film packages, franchise series and short film content for Sundance Channel’s international channels and We tv Asia. In addition to content deals, she provides recommendations on programming selections and scheduling stunts.She joined the acquisitions department in 2005 from Showtime Networks/Sundance Channel where she was Director of Rights & Clearances for both networks.
Previously, she worked for NBC’s Olympic Unit prepping for the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games and was part of the production team for NBC’s coverage from the Summer Olympic Games in Barcelona and Atlanta.  She joined NBC’s Olympic Unit from NBC’s late night talk show Later…with Bob Costas.
 In Maplewood, Gail has served as a PTA board member at Tuscan Elementary School and a board member for the Black Maria Film Festival.  She currently is one of the festival organizers for the Lighthouse Film Festival and sits on the committee at large for the New Jersey Jewish Film Festival.-->

Amy Jo Blanchfield Curran Executive Director. Amy Jo Curran served as an International Human Resources Manager at Booz Allen & Hamilton, Inc.,in McLean,VA. Amy Jo handled the overall provision of HR Services, policies and programs for over 1,000 employees in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and throughout Europe. Amy Jo also worked as an HR Specialist at Bank of New York after leaving the DC area for NY City.
